Holy Blood by Alabama 3
I have been used
I've been abused
just from trying to keep you people amused
they say all but the elite shall be refused
shall be refused
I drink the wine
I break the bread
this giving blood
this living flesh
for the living dead
I've got to keep those Christmas lights on in my head
in my head
this holy blood
this holy blood
this holy blood
I'm givin up
they make the sign
we take the vow
they take that silver and the gold
we take a bow
what the hell are we supposed to do now
on this our holy ground
this holy blood
this holy blood
this holy blood
I'm givin up
I got so fried
I made you cry
God knows that I've tried
to always be there by your side
right by your side
its holy blood....

Its the end. We are headlong to our death. Its all been done and its all been said and we are all fucking monkeys with hairdos. I take solice in knowing that I lived at the highest point of human evolution. The fact that its all down hill from here is okay with me because I've had enough of this shit already. I would hate to be young, they must be so confused. I would hate to be really old because they must be really confused. This shit hole of a planet that we have ruined is about ready to shake us off like my dog with a bug. And as we fade into the great history of time all our bullshit will mean even less then it does now.

Where Do I Begin by The Chemical Brothers

Sunday morning I'm waking up

Can't even focus on a coffee cup

Don't even know who's bed I'm in

Where do I start

Where do I begin

Where do I start

Where do I begin

Power In The Blood by Alabama 3
No time for spindoctor's medicine
Cooked up by the government,
selling me some cover-up
Sponsored information,
piped up in the shopping malls
Nothing but another drug,
a license they can buy and sell
I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
When that call it comes, I will be ready for war
No time for backhanded compliments
From bourgeois apologists
desperate for an incident
Real-estate assassins,
assessing my predicament
My dollar bills dependant upon
it being in their interest
I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
When that call it comes, I will be ready for war
There is power in the blood, justice in the sword
When that call it comes, I will be ready for war
Power in the blood, justice in the sword
When that call it comes, I will be ready
I will raise my sword up right
To the bright and shining light,
Stained crimson red with the blood of the unredeemed
And as I cut them limb from limb,
and I dash all their kith and kin,
You know, their bodies I will bury in the deep
Because there's power in the blood
There's power in the blood

Destiny by Zero 7
I lie awake
I've gone to ground
I'm watching porn
In my hotel dressing gown
Now I dream of you
But I still believe
There's only enough for one in this
Lonely hotel suite
The journey's long
And it feels so bad
I'm thinking back to the last day we had.
Old moon fades into the new
Soon I know I'll be back with you
I'm nearly with you
I'm nearly with you
When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny
On a clear day
I'll fly home to you
I'm bending time getting back to you
Old moon fades into the new
Soon I know I'll be back with you
I'm nearly with you
I'm nearly with you
When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny
When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny
I'll fly, I'll fly home
I'll fly home and I'll fly home

This day in music history.

September 5, 1964, The House of the Rising Sun by The Animals goes to number one on the pop charts. The song was the first number one hit for a British Invasion band that wasn't The Beatles. House Of The Rising Sun was written so long ago that no one is sure who actually wrote it anymore. The song was first recorded in 1934 by Clarence Ashley and Gwen Foster, the song has since been copied many times in many different styles. Bob Dylan stopped playing the song live after the Animals had their hit because people were accusing him of stealing the song from them but in reality Dylan had stolen his arrangement from a New York folk singer named Dave Van Ronk.
House Of The rising Sun (The traditional version)
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun.
It's been the ruin of many a poor girl,
and me, O God, for one.
If I had listened what Mamma said,
I'd 'a' been at home today.
Being so young and foolish, poor boy,
let a rambler lead me astray.
Go tell my baby sister
never do like I have done
to shun that house in New Orleans
they call the Rising Sun.
My mother she's a tailor;
she sewed my new blue jeans.
My sweetheart, he's a drunkard,
Lord, Lord, drinks down in New Orleans.
The only thing a drunkard needs is a suitcase and a trunk.
The only time he's satisfied is when he's out on a drunk.
Fills his glasses to the brim, passes them around
only pleasure he gets out of life
is hoblin' from town to town.
One foot is on the platform
and the other one on the train.
I'm going back to New Orleans
to wear that ball and chain.
Going back to New Orleans,
my race is almost run.
Going back to spend the rest of my days
beneath that Rising Sun.

House Of The Rising Sun (The Animals version)
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new bluejeans
My father was a gamblin' man
Down in New Orleans
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he's satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk
Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun
Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I'm one

This day in music history.

September 4, 1991, Dottie West dies at age 58 from injuries sustained five days earlier in a car accident. Born Dorothy Marie Marshin in TN, on October 11, 1932. West was the first woman to win a Grammy for a country song. She started performing on local radio shows at the age of 13 and studied music at Tennessee Tech. She had her first Top 40 hit in 1963 with "Let Me Off at the Corner", in all she had over 40 top forty hits including 5 number ones. The day of the car accident Dottie was driving herself to the Grand Ole Opry when her car stalled, a friend saw her on the side of the road and offered her a ride. The friend lost control of his car on an off ramp and sent the car air born for 180 feet. Dottie died while in surgery to stop her liver from bleeding.
Cold Hand Of Fate by Dottie West
The dawn of springtime gave birth to a new love
For you and me it was born too late
For we both have been placed in the arms of others
cheated by the cold hands of fate
Fate has no conscience no mercy for me and you
And the cold hand of fate wrote the book of who loves who
So let the snow of the winter cover our love
And for the sense of misfortune we'll pay
But we know in our hearts this love will live forever
cheated by the cold hands of fate
And fate has no conscience...

This day in music history.

September 2, 1963, The Angels become the first all white, all-female group to have a Number one record when their song "My Boyfriend's Back" goes to the top of the Billboard pop chart.
My Boyfriends Back by The Angels
He went away and you hung around
And bothered me, every night
And when I wouldn't go out with you
You said things that weren't very nice
My boyfriend's back and you're gonna be in trouble
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
You see him comin' better cut out on the double
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
You been spreading lies that I was untrue
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
So look out now cause he's comin' after you
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
(Hey, he knows that you been tryin')
(And he knows that you been lyin')
He's been gone for such a long time
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Now he's back and things'll be fine
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
You're gonna be sorry you were ever born
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
Cause he's kinda big and he's awful strong
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
(Hey he knows I wasn't cheatin'!)
(Now you're gonna get a beatin'!)
(What made you think he'd believe all your lies?)
(Wah-ooo, wah-ooo)
You're a big man now but he'll cut you down to size
(Wah-ooo, wait and see)
My boyfriend's back he's gonna save my reputation
(Hey-la-day-la my boyfriend's back)
If I were you I'd take a permanent vacation
(Hey-la, hey-la, my boyfriend's back)
Yeah, my boyfriend's back
(La-day-la, my boyfriend's back)
Look out now, yeah, my boyfriend's back
(La-day-la, my boyfriend's back)
I could see him comin'
(La-day-la, my boyfriend's back)
So you better get a runnin'
(La-day-la, my boyfriend's back)
Alright now
(La-day-la, my boyfriend's back)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(La-day-la, my boyfriend's back)
My boyfriend's back now
(La-day-la, my boyfriend's back)
