This day in music history.

October 22, 1966, The Beach Boys release the song "Good Vibrations". The song was the most expensive song ever recorded, it took over six months and 17 recording sessions at four different studios. The engineer said the last take sounded exactly like the first, six months earlier. The song features the sci-fi movie sound-effects instrument the theremin. Brian Wilson described "Good Vibrations" as a pocket symphony. The song became the Beach Boys biggest hit and made it to number one in the US and UK.
Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys
I love the colorful clothes she wears
And the way the sunlight plays upon her hair
I hear the sound of a gentle word
On the wind that lifts her perfume through the air
Im pickin up good vibrations
Shes giving me excitations
Im pickin up good vibrations
Shes giving me excitations
Good good good good vibrations
Shes giving me excitations
Good good good good vibrations
Shes giving me excitations
Close my eyes
Shes somehow closer now
Softly smile, I know she must be kind
When I look in her eyes
She goes with me to a blossom world
Im pickin up good vibrations
Shes giving me excitations
Im pickin up good vibrations...

Ahhhhhhh
Ah my my what elation
I don't know where but she sends me there
Ah my my what a sensation
Ah my my what elations
Ah my my what
Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations
A happenin' with her
Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations
A happenin' with her
Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations
A happenin'...
