This day in music history.

February 21, 1970, Simon and Garfunkel went to No.1 with 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'. The album went on to stay on the chart for over 300 weeks, returning to the top on eight separate occasions and spending a total of 6 weeks at No.1. Besides the title cut the album had 3 other top 10 hits "The Boxer" , "El Condor Pasa", and "Cecilia". It would be the last studio album the two would ever make.
Bridge Over Troubled Waters by Simon and Garfunkle
When you’re weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
I’m on your side. when times get rough
And friends just can’t be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
When you’re down and out,
When you’re on the street,
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you.
I’ll take your part.
When darkness comes
And pains is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Sail on silver girl,
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine.
If you need a friend
I’m sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
