This day in music history.

January 15, 1994, Harry Nilsson dies of heart disease in his sleep. Nilsson was known for songs like "Everybody's Talkin At Me," "Without You" and "Coconut". He was 53 when he died. He wrote and performed the theme song for "The Courtship Of Eddies Father" TV show. Harry also wrote hits for Glen Campbell, Fred Astaire, The Yardbirds, Three Dog Night and The Monkees. At a Beatles press conference in 1968 John Lennon was asked to name his favorite American artist. He replied, "Nilsson". Paul McCartney was then asked to name his favorite American group. He replied, "Nilsson". It was in Nilssons flat that Mama Cass died (1974) and in 1978 Keith moon died in the same room as Mama had, Pete Townshend now owns the flat. Just a few years before his death Harry's financial adviser embezzled all the money he had ever made as a recording artist. Harry was once asked for some advice on how to stay happy he said "Have babies! Have lots of babies! They're wonderful!"
Everbodys Talkin At Me by Harry Nilsson
Everybody's talking at me.
I don't hear a word they're saying,
Only the echoes of my mind.
People stopping staring,
I can't see their faces,
Only the shadows of their eyes.
I'm going where the sun keeps shining
Thru' the pouring rain,
Going where the weather suits my clothes,
Backing off of the North East wind,
Sailing on a summer breeze
And skipping over the ocean like a stone.
