This day in music history.

November 9, 1973, The "Piano Man." album is released. It is Billy Joel's breakthrough album, the title song was released as a single and became a Top Twenty-five hit, and can be heard 50 times a day on classic radio stations. Billys first bands were called Hassels and Attila, he also spent some time as a bar piano player. After one of his many accidents (this one on his Harley) Billy was asked for his autograph by the women that had hit him, he signed it in his own blood from his injured wrist.
Excerpt from Captain Jack from the Piano Man album.
Your sister's gone out, she's on a date
And you just sit home and masturbate
The phone is gonna ring soon, but you just can't wait
For that call...
So you stand on the corner in your new English clothes
And you look so polished from your hair down to your toes
But still your finger's gonna pick your nose
After all...
But Captain Jack will get you high tonight
And take you to your special island
Captain Jack will get you by tonight
Just a little push 'n' you'll be smilin'
