This day in music history.

October 18, 1956, Don't Be Cruel', 'Hound Dog' and 'Heartbreak Hotel' were on the charts and his first movie would be released in a month. Elvis stopped for gas, he was immediately surrounded by fans and brought traffic to a stand still. The owner of the gas station told Elvis he had to leave and refused to serve him. Elvis got pissed off and started threatening him so the guy pulled out a knife, Elvis kicked him in the balls, took his knife away and punched him in the eye. He was booked on charges of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. Elvis later said "That dumb hillbilly should of just sold me some gas, he had it comin."
