This day in music history.

August 8, 1975, While hunting in Montana Hank Williams Jr. fell 442 feet down the side of the 'Ajax' mountain. His skull was split and his face was crushed. He literally held his brain in his head with his hand. He underwent extensive reconstructive cosmetic surgery, he had to relearn how to speak and sing. Surgeons rebuilt his shattered face and body over two years and he rebounded to become one of the most successful and respected country artists of all time.
