This day in music history.

May 17, 1968, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and John Rutsy (on drums) form Rush. Rutsy will be replaced with Niel Peart after only one album. It was at this first practice that they played the song 'Working Man' for the first time. The song included the immortal line " I get home at five o’clock And I take myself out a nice, cold beer Always seem to be wond’rin’ Why there’s nothin’ goin’ down here, eh?"
