This day in music history.

May 4, 1952, Little Walter is the first person to amplify his harmonica. He holds a small microphone in his cupped hands. Walter's harmonica took on a swooping saxophone-like sound and he is to this day considered to be the greatest Blues Harmonica player that ever lived.
May 3 1971, The manager of GrandFunk Railroad rents out the big room at the Gotham Hotel in New York. His plan is to get the band closer to the press then they had been (they hadn't done interviews for some time). Of the 150 reporters invited 6 show up. GrandFunk is outraged and vows to never make a decent record again. The promise is kept.
