February 28, 1985, At the age of 38 David Byron, singer with Uriah Heep died. Byron had been fired from Uriah Heep in 1976 due to his erratic behavior caused by alcoholism. After being fired he attempted several comebacks with a band called Rough Diamond and The Byron Band. Although the official cause of death was heart failure he had in fact drank himself to death.
Sweet Freedom by Uriah Heep
As you look around you
Do you like what you see?
Though it sometimes
Makes you lonely
Do you like being free?
And are you sure youll be okay
Without my company?
I just want you to be happy
Even if its not with me
Sweet sweet freedom
Sweet sweet sweet
Will the line between all this
And my love ever meet
Sweet sweet freedom
Sweet sweet sweet
What Im really tryin to say
Is that I will be around
Should you find that after all
You cant get by
With what you found
Oh, it wasnt just my heart you took
And gently tossed into the sea
Though its hard to find
The words I need
I guess it was me
Will the line between all this
And my love ever gonna meet
Sweet sweet freedom
Sweet sweet sweet
Oh sweet,
oh sweet sweet freedom
So sweet,
so sweet

February 27, 1966, Pink Floyd are in a London recording studio recording their first single, "Arnold Layne". The song was written by Syd Barret and is about a transvestite that steals women's underpants from wash lines. The song makes it to the top of the U.K. charts.
Arnold Layne by Pink Floyd
Arnold Layne had a strange hobby
Collecting clothes
Moonshine washing line
They suit him fine
On the wall hung a tall mirror
Distorted view, see through baby blue
Oh, Arnold Layne
Its not the same, takes two to know
Two to know, two to know
Why cant you see? Arnold Layne,
Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne
Now he's caught - a nasty sort of person
They gave him time
Doors bang - chain gang - he hates it
Oh, Arnold Layne
Its not the same, takes two to know
Two to know, two to know
Why cant you see?
Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne, Arnold Layne
Don't do it again

Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where Are You?
We got some work to do now.
Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where Are You?
We need some help from you now.
Come on Scooby-Doo, I see you
pretending you got a sliver
But you're not fooling me, cause I can see,
the way you shake and shiver.
You know we got a mystery to solve,
So Scooby Doo be ready for your act.
Uh-uh Uh-uh
Don't hold back!
And Scooby Doo if you come through
you're going to have yourself a scooby snack!
That's a fact!
Scooby-Dooby-Doo, here Are You.
You're ready and you're willing.
If we can count on you Scooby Doo,
I know you'll catch that villian

I will go out of this world black, naked and ugly. So I enjoy life."
I Put A Spell On You by Screamin Jay Hawkins
I put a spell on you’
cause you’re mine
You better stop the things you do

You’re runnin’ around
You know better daddy
I can’t stand it cause you put me down
I put a spell on you
Because you’re mine
You’re mine
I love ya

I love you
I love you anyhow
And I don’t care
If you don’t want me
I’m yours right now
You hear me

February 9, 1993, Mick Jagger releases his third solo album, it is called called "Wandering Spirit". Producer Rick Rubin and a ass kicking band help make this one of the classic albums of the 90s. Mick never sounded better then on songs like "Wired All Night" and "Use Me". The album went to number 12 in the UK and number 11 in the US. It earned a gold record later that year.
Wandering Spirit by Mick Jagger
When all the twelve apostles try to ring me on the phone
Take a message but I wont return their call
For I have no eyes to see him and I thought I lost my way
And I know I've lost the keys to your door
And I climbed the highest mountain and I looked down on the sea
And I saw a ship a-sail to the shore
I took a passage to the east and I journeyed to the west
I made love from Battambang to Baltimore
I said, oh, am I running in a race
I said, oh, am I getting anyplace
I said, oh, can I make it
I'm a wandering spirit
yes I am a restless soul
Im a wandering spirit,
theres no place that I can call my own
I was a glutton at the banquet and I spilt the finest wine
Trod the pyramids and ruins of Angkor
I kissed the Mona Lisa and I breakfasted with kings
And I touched the nerves of nature in the raw
I said, oh, am I running in a race
I said, oh, take that smile right off your face
I said, oh, I cant make it
Im a wandering spirit
no escape, no parole
Im a wandering spirit
theres no place that
I can call my home
I said, oh, am I running in a race
I said, oh, take that smile right off your face
I said, oh, I cant make it
Im a wandering spirit
looking for a place to go
Im a wandering spirit
no escape, no parole
Im a wandering spirit,
Im a lost and lonely soul

What Is And What Should Never Be by Led Zeppelin
And if I say to you tomorrow,
Take my hand, child, come with me.
Its to a castle I will take you,
Where whats to be, they say will be.
catch the wind, see us spin,
Sail away, leave today,
Way up high in the sky.
But the wind wont blow,
You really shouldnt go,
It only goes to show
That you will be mine
By takin our time.
ooh!
And if you say to me tomorrow,
Oh what fun it all would be,
Then whats to stop us, pretty baby,
But what is and what should never be.
So if you wake up with the sunrise,
And all your dreams are still as new,
And happiness is what you need so bad,
Girl, the answer lies with you,
yeah.
Hey, oh
Oh the wind wont blow
and we really shouldnt go
And it only goes to show
Catch the wind, were gonna see it spin
Were gonna...sail, little girl
Do do do, bop bop a do-oh
My my my my my my yeah
Everybody I know seems to know me well
but does anybody know Im gonna move like hell
but theyre never gonna know cause I move like hell.

February 6, 1998, At the age of 40, Falco was killed in a car accident. Born Johann Holzel in Vienna, the single survivor of triplets. He was the first-ever Austrian act to have a UK and US number 1 hit single with the song "Rock Me Amadeus" in 1985.
Rock me Amadeus by Falco
He was the first punk ever to set foot on this earth.
He was a genius from the day of his birth.
He could play the piano like a ring and a bell
And ev'rybody screamed
Come on, rock me Amadeus.
He was a superstar, he was dynamite and whatever he did
it Seemed to be alright
And he drank and he cursed and he fooled around
But when the women would shout
Rock me Amadeus,
Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus,Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus,
Oh oh oh Amadeus.
With a bottle of wine in one hand and a woman in the other
Cause he was a ladies man
He never stopped to worry what the next day would bring
Because the girls would sing
Rock me Amadeus,
Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus,Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus,
Oh oh oh Amadeus.
His mind was on rock and roll and having fun
Because he lived so fast he had to die so young.
But he made his mark in history
Still ev'rybody says
Rock me Amadeus
Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus,Amadeus, Amadeus, Amadeus,
Oh oh oh Amadeus.

February 4, 1874, Frances Ridley Havergal penned the words to the hymn "Take My Life and Let It Be". Years later she gave this account of how she came to write it. "Perhaps you will be interested to know the origin of the Consecration hymn "Take my life." I went for a little visit of five days [to Areley House]. There were ten persons in the house, some unconverted and long prayed for, some converted, but not rejoicing Christians. He gave me the prayer 'Lord, give me all in this house!' And He just did! Before I left the house every one had got a blessing. The last night of my visit after I had retired, the governess asked me to go to the two daughters. They were crying then and there both of them trusted and rejoiced; it was nearly midnight. I was too happy to sleep, and passed most of the night in praise and renewal of my own consecration; and these little couplets formed themselves, and chimed in my heart one after another till they finished with 'ever only, ALL FOR THEE".
Take My Life And Let It Be by Frances Ridley Havergal
Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.
Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.

Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.
Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.

Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.

February 3, 1968, The Lemon Pipers only hit makes it to number one. The band is said to have hated the song but the record company (Buddah) demanded they record it and release it as a single. "Green Tambourine" is now considered to be one of the best songs of one of the worst genres of rock, "Psychedelic Bubblegum".
Green Tambourine
Drop your silver in my tambourine
Help a poor man fill a pretty dream
Give me pennies, I'll take anything
Now listen while I play My green tambourine
Watch the jingle jangle start to shine

Reflections of the music that is mine
When you toss a coin you'll hear it sing
Now listen while I play My green tambourine
Drop a dime before I walk away

Any song you want I'll gladly play
Money feeds my music machine
Now listen while I play My green tambourine
Listen and I'll play . . .

Who Killed Bambi? by The Sex Pistols
Gentle pretty thing,
who only had one spring,
you bravely faced the world,
ready for anything,
I'm happy that you lived,
cus now your life is mine,
what have I
expect to cry,
spirit never die
birds of the air,
beasts of the air
overjoyed at Bambis birth
they gambolled in the glade
who killed Bambi
who killed Bambi
murder murder murder
someone should be angry
the crime of the century
who shot little Bambi
never trust a hippie,
I love punkie Bambi
I'll kill to find the killer
in the rotten roll army
all you spiky punkies
believers in the ruin
with one big shout they all cry out
who killed Bambi!
who killed Bambi! ...

February 1, 1997, Boy George tried to jump the queue at The Ministry Of Sound in London. George had earlier been a guest DJ. Two bouncers that didn't give a fuck who he was beat the shit out of him.
Do You really Want To Hurt Me by Culture Club
Give me timeTo realize my crime
Let me love and steal
I have danced inside your eyes
How can I be real
Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry
Precious kisses
Words that burn me
Lovers never ask you why
In my heart the fires burning
Choose my colour
Find a star
Precious people always tell me
that's a step
A step too far
Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry
Words are few
I have spoken
I could waste a thousand years
Wrapped in sorrow words are token
Come inside and catch my tears
you've been talking but believe me
If its true you do not know
This boy loves without a reason
Im prepared to let you go
If its love you want from me
Then take it away
Everything is not what you see
Its over again
Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry...
